Range Riders Motorcycle Club Information
Incorporated: 1972
Events: Enduro, Hare Scrambles, in the past Motorcross.
Location: Grand Rapids, MN
The Range Riders were one of the first off-road motorcycle clubs in Minnesota.
We are a member of ARMCA District 23 and sactioned by the AMA. The number of
active members has changed through the years.
The Ranger Riders put on several National Enduro's, the latest in 1980. During
those years we had enough people and terrain to also put on at least one
District Enduro, on a separate course. At that time we had three separate
area's to run Enduro's. For about the last 20 years we had been working closely
with Blandin Paper Company and had permission to setup about a 70 mile Enduro
located 10 miles south of Grand Rapids in their Shingle Mill forest area.
In 2008, with the Upper Mississippi Legacy land deal between Blandin and the
DNR, we lost the use of the area and the location for our race. The hope is
to work with private land owners like Blandin, the DNR and the US Forest
Service in the future to once again put an enduro in that location or another.
Starting in the fall of '03 we have been sanctioning Hare Scrambles events at the
Quadna Mountain Park facility one mile south of Hill City. The location is an
old downhill ski resort turned motor sports facility (formerly known as Quadna
Mountain Resort). We have about 600+ acres to use for the trails. In 2009 the
Range Riders were voted best hare scramble of the year by District 23 members.
In 2010, the Range Riders put on a national hare scramble in the East National
Hare Scramble Series and were again rewarded with hare scramble of the year.
We hope the number of participants and spectators will increase and we can
continue to host National type events (GNCC, National HS) in the future.
